On a break….

The Big Band Tradition, like many groups, stopped meeting in 2020 when their practice space temporarily closed down due to the pandemic. They have yet to resume rehearsals; many of the players are in other bands or aren’t ready to get back together at this time. I’m sure plenty of people would love to hear the big sound of this 18-piece band again, so we’ll hope for the future!

New Date for Benefit Concert!

The Big Band Tradition will be playing at Christ Congregational Church on Saturday, May 18th from 8:00pm – 11:00pm!  Donations at the door will go to help the youth go on a mission trip to help rebuild Puerto Rico.  Come hear some great music, dance in the spiffy newly-refinished Social Hall, and support a fantastic cause!  The church is at 9525 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD.

Greenbelt Gig!

The BBT is playing the New Deal Cafe in Greenbelt, MD! This coming Sunday, August 7th, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the Roosevelt Center in the heart of Old Greenbelt is the place to be. Call ahead to reserve a table, or take a chance on standing room-only! You’ve got to see how this 19-piece band fits into a space for a trio, and how they sound as well. I’ll see you there!
